Born and bred in Belgium, at the age of fifteen Vincent Schoofs moved to global music capital London where he picked up his love for psy-trance at the now legendary Drome. Upon his arrival in China he spent a year in Qingdao promoting and playing at various local venues as one of the only electronic music DJ’s. Currently living in Shanghai, as half of Magic Garden with DJ Solaris he is planting the seeds of the globally emerging psychedelic trance scene. Pursuing his drive to share his musical passion has brought him guest slots and seen him throw his own parties at G+, MAO, club dkd, Park 97, Madam Zung, Rojam, Soundlab, as well as have him play in cities across China (SOS, Hangzhou; Babyface, Shenyang; Cinderella, Jinin; Ritan Park, Beijing, …) as well as ZOOM Bar on Koh Phangan Beach, Thailand.

2006 saw a residency at what arguably was the coolest club in Asia, the mighty club dkd, where Magic Garden put on some of the most successful monthly events in Shanghai nightlife history with their Full Moon parties; transforming the club with unique decorations and visuals into a fully immersive audiovisual environment. One of Magic Garden’s other ventures, Last Station, provided Shanghai with top notch afterparties every Friday at the first proper after-hours club. Local talent spun on rotation and international acts such as Brian Cross and Fergie have been known to swing by and give a little showcase. Determined to further the scene Magic Garden is responsible for bringing over internationally renowned psy-trance artists such as DJ Dhya.

For a very special magic Garden 6 year anniversary party Shanghai was treated to a line up of no less than ten of Shanghai’s finest Dj’s, who’s efforts were dually reworded as all of the profits were donated to charity! In 2009 Magic Garden spent a year at G+ throwing some of the best parties G+, and indeed the city has seen, staying open later and partying harder than anyone with a record breaking attendance of 2800 people for their Halloween Monster Bash! Most recently they hosted their 9 Year Anniversary at the iconic 1933 in Shanghai; a massive art deco defunct abattoir set the scene for a proper rave unseen before.
Kodama now plays a at various select underground venues across town while still pushing Magic Garden events into the future.

His technical sets range from progressive to full on hi-tech trance; driving, techy yet melodic and always tuned into the crowd. Providing the perfect balance to his powerful dancefloor sets he also spins luscious downtempo across the whole spectrum, ranging from ambient through dub to lounge. d*;*b
